Osteoporosis in Men: The Testosterone Number Almost Nobody Checks

Quick answer: A man can be handed a testosterone lab report that says normal and still be losing bone, because the number on that report is almost always total testosterone, and total is not the number that reaches bone. Only the small free portion, the part not bound up and locked away, can actually deliver the rebuild signal. Bone is not a dead frame. It is living tissue

What that number means for a man's bone specifically

Raising free testosterone matters because that is the signal bone is waiting on. The bone density trial, and what it does and does not prove for a man

A separate, placebo-controlled human trial tracked people who already had measurable bone loss for close to a year. Here is the honest limit of that trial. It was conducted in postmenopausal women, not in men, so it is not direct proof of what happens to a man's DEXA scan on the same mineral. What it does establish, and this matters, is that this mineral can move real human bone density in a controlled trial, not just markers in a rat or cells in a dish. Combine that with the free testosterone trial above, which was conducted in men and measured the exact signal a man's bone runs on, and the 2 pieces close most of the gap between them. Nobody has run a dedicated shilajit bone density trial in men yet. Saying otherwise would be overstating what is actually on the record.

Why the usual bone stack misses this entirely

A man who has already tried to fix his bone density has usually reached for the same things a woman would, calcium, vitamin D, magnesium, zinc, and sometimes boron on the theory that it nudges testosterone. None of those, taken on their own, are aimed at the free testosterone number specifically, and for a lot of men, none of them move it. The bricks pile up with no crew directed to use them.

All of this is laboratory, cell-line research. None of it is a human prostate trial, and none of it should be read as one.
